My art is focused on making works in the landscape. I work on the edge of rivers, seas or lakes using ink and the movement of water across the paper. At its core, the work is motivated by not just observing but being a participant and collaborator of sorts, with the water.  Water, in a constant state of flux, provides the unpredictability and physical interaction, which I love, each place leaving its own unique trace. The spontaneous and yet permanent marks are made in this fleeting moment. As such, the work belongs to a tradition of drawing, allowing nature to ‘scribe’. Jo Lewis, 2018
